“All the news and announcements from Playstation’s E3 2014 conference!”
Playstation have destroyed the competition with the PS4 and could’ve quite easily coasted through this years E3, but thankfully they came out strong with lots of massive reveals! The word exclusive was used more times during their conference than I thought was humanly possible but was used to really exaggerate the fact that many big developers have really got behind the PS4. A non-game related point to mention about Sony’s conference was that it was terribly presented: the pacing was off, with trailer after trailer being shown in quick succession followed by a segment about products and pricing that went on for far too long; there were plenty of technical faults along the way but thankfully things ended high. So in case you haven’t seen anything yet, here is everything you missed from Sony’s E3 conference!
Sony started off by revealing an all new gameplay trailer for Destiny, that included what I’m sure was Peter Dinklage’s voice over part of it. They were quick to announce that Destiny will be available first on PS4 and also that the beta will be live for PS4 players on July 17th, as well an exclusive first look at the alpha that goes live this Thursday. Like the PS4s predecessors, Sony announced an alternate colour for the PS4, Glacial White, that will be available in a bundle with Destiny and a months Playstation Plus membership on the games release date - September 9th 2014. So it looks like PS4 may be the platform to enjoy Destiny on!

The Order 1886
No real details were announced regarding this title other than a first look at some gameplay footage. The title will be available February 20th 2015 and will have multiple special editions available.

Once again, there was little news on this title other than, “It’s out now!”. That’s right: Entwined is out now on the Playstation Network for $9.99 and utilises the dual analogs to control 2 separate characters in the game.
Check out the Entwined launch trailer right here:
Infamous First Light
A completely stand alone game that doesn’t require prior completion of Infamous Second Son to enjoy - though it was announced that players who have the parent game will receive some exclusive extras when purchasing First Light.
Check out the reveal trailer for Infamous First Light right here:
Little Big Planet 3
This was an inevitable reveal and one that I’m sure will keep Playstation fans happy for the near future. Little Big Planet 3 will see Sack Boy return with a team of new characters to help tackle all new puzzles and adventures. Oddsock is much faster than Sack Boy and can also wall jump to reach high places. Next up is Toggle, who can alter his size to tackle any task at hand. Finally, there is Swoop, who can fly and also carry objects and the other characters in it’s claws. All the new characters were demo’d live on stage tackling a puzzle that required each character's unique skills to complete. Sony also revealed that all your creations from the previous LBP games will be fully compatible on LBP3 and will have improved graphics and full Dualshock 4 pad support.

A whole new IP from the creators of Demon Soul, Software, that looks very dark and gruesome. That's pretty much it, but the trailer looked great!
Check out the reveal trailer for Bloodborne right here:
This game was everywhere yesterday at E3 and Sony chose to show off some actual in-game footage, as well as demo’ing the awesome looking co-op mode. With grappling hooks, wind suits and gyrocopters, this game really looks like the FarCry game we all want for the next gen consoles! Sony also announced that players can play co-op games even if one of them doesn’t own the game – exclusively on Playstation!
Check out the gameplay trailer for FarCry 4 right here:
Dead Island 2
Another reveal trailer with little information about the game. The Dead Island sequel is pencilled in for release next Spring.

Diablo Ultimate Evil Edition
No real details about this were released that we didn’t already know, but it was announced that it will include some Playstation exclusive dungeons containing enemy zombies and walkers seen in The Last of Us and other Sony titles; they will have their own move sets and not just be skins thrown onto old Diablo mobs.
Disney Infinity 2.0
Once again no real news, only the announcement that the Hulk will be a Playstation exclusive character! I think I know what kids will be asking for this Christmas!
Paradox interactive revealed their all new Playstation exclusive sequel to Magicka with a live action comedic trailer. No other details were announced, but the trailer was cool.

Bringing the nostalgia hard right here with the news that Grim Fandango will be remastered and exclusively available on Playstation 4 and Vita. Sadly, no release date was announced.

Sony were very keen to show off just how many indie games will be available to Playstation Plus subscribers and really bring home the fact that it is the best service for the players.

From the creator of Journey, comes another visually beautiful, awesomely soundtracked game that I’m sure will keep many people glazed over in the eyes and locked on their TV screens for days. No real details, but the reveal trailer was sunning!

No Man’s Sky
Now this is a genuinely exciting looking title; originally a Kickstarter funded project, No Man’s Sky drops players onto a fully unique planet amongst millions of others in a fully explorable universe that is ever growing. Take to the skies and explore all these planets discovering new species and life! It looks fantastic!

Sony’s answer to the Oculus Rift, aiming to give players virtual reality, immersive gameplay! Project Morpheus was revealed during the conference and is currently being demo’d at the Playstation booth all week. What I wouldn’t give to be there testing it right now!
With the recent release of the Share Factory, Playstation are adding YouTube compatability to the Dualshock 4’s Share button, allowing players to upload their videos straight to their YouTube channel!
Playstation are a big fan of free-to-play games and they look to expand on that for the PS4, with at least 25 new free-to-play games coming to the next gen platform in the next 12 months!
Check out the trailer below to find out all the free-to-play title coming to the PS4:
Minecraft coming to PS Vita
The title is basically the extent of this announcement; the full game of Minecraft is coming to PS Vita this August.
Another hardware reveal here, with Playstation revealing a new remote access box that will attach a TV and allow players to play their Playstation games remotely on any TV. With 1000’s of games being available at launch, Sony revealed that the Playstation TV box with sell for $100, with a bundle deal being offered that includes a Dualshock 3 pad!
Mortal Kombat X
Another big gameplay reveal here and even a sly character reveal, showing off 2 new characters coming to Mortal Kombat X: the two characters are seen in an in-game match, one a bug/bee like woman and the other an ogre of some kind with a young lad of possibly goblin origin on his back – the two combo for various moves. There was also an on going match between Scorpion and Sub-Zero showing off some of the new x-ray moves and culminating in a fatality montage, with plenty of new, gruesome fatalities! The gameplay looks as beautiful as ever and the gameplay has never looked better.

Powers TV Show
Playstation brought out successful Marvel alum Brian Michael Bendis to announce the first Playstation original TV series, Powers, based on a comic he wrote of the same name.

MGS: The Phantom Pain
An extended cinematic trailer for the Phantom Pain was shown, much to the delight of the crowd. Once again, however, it didn’t show off any gameplay for the game coming out next year.

Here is potentially the most crowd pleasing announcement of the conference, revealing that the most successful game of all time will be coming to the PS4 later this year. After playing a short video showing off the upgraded graphics on the PS4, Sony revealed that online players can transfer their characters from their PS3 or Xbox 360!
Check out the upgraded graphics trailer right here:
Sony really did save their big guns until last! Revealing all new gameplay footage from Arkham Knight and even showing off the new Batmobile Battle Mode, they ended with a brilliantly done take over by Scarecrow – which revealed that his Nightmare challenge maps will be a PS4 exclusive!
Check out the Arkham Knight gameplay trailer and ScareCrow take over right here:
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
This was a very well placed reveal: the big game that all Playstation owners have been waiting for, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End coming to PS4 next year! The cinematic trailer got everyone in the crowd going and ended with a hint that A Thief’s End will be the last Uncharted game with Drake repeating “One Last Time” in the trailer!

Well that’s all folks! Playstation used a strong portfolio of game franchises and a huge number of Playstation exclusives to reassure owners that they are in the right place for gaming.
Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for more news coming out of E3 this week and for our Video Round Up of the whole show later this week!
