Kingpin cast in Marvel and Netflix' Daredevil show

Here's an Awesome Update for Marvel and Daredevil fans! Vincent D'Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Jurassic World) has been cast as Wilson Fist - better known as The Kingpin - a long time villain of Daredevil (as well as Spider-Man and other street-level heroes), in the upcoming first-of-five Netflix series for Marvels Cinematic Universe!

The Kingpin is an iconic villain who rose from street smart youth into criminal overlord in a few short years. Often ridiculed for his seemingly obese and unfit physique, he is actually a formidable opponent with prodigious strength - although his main weapon has always been his cunning, intelligence and shrewd business acumen. He works out of Hell's Kitchen, where the likes of Daredevil and Heroes for Hire operate, and Marvel said that Fisk is "a powerful businessman whose interests in the future of Hell’s Kitchen will bring him into conflict with the blind attorney Matt Murdock and his alter ego Daredevil."

Star Wars Battlefront set in Original Trilogy era

Here's an Awesome Update for Star Wars Battlefront fans! At their E3 conference, EA announced that the next installment in the Battlefront series - simply titled Star Wars Battlefront - will explore settings from the Original Trilogy, including Hoth and Endor.

Star Wars Battlefront is the first of many planned make-overs of Star Wars titles over the next decade, and is certain to draw a lot of attention - and scrutiny. EA's COO, Peter Moore, said "We're going to treat this with respect, particularly because people have a very clear idea of what a Battlefront game should be." The early game footage certainly looks beautifully crafted, with a feeling almost precisely evocative of the films themselves.

"These games are so big and you’ve got to get the game right," Moore said, adding that "We’re often criticized for release dates and getting ahead of it too early. I never believed in nailing a date and then reverse engineering the title backwards from the date, it just doesn’t work. When we’re comfortable, we’ll announce a release date."

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate reveal trailer

Here's an Awesome Update for 3DS and Monster Hunter fans! Capcom's Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, the western release version based on Japan's Monster Hunter 4G and built exclusively for the 3DS, has got its reveal trailer!

The trailer gives us a glimpse at what we can expect from the game in terms of graphics - which seem very impressive for the handheld device - as well as promising a "killer online experience" where players can team up with hunters to take on the monsters. The gameplay seems to follow the standard Monster Hunter format of hunting increasingly big and dangerous monsters with increasingly epic weapons, gear and, of course, skill. The game is expected to release in early 2015.
