Here's an awesome update for fans of the Fable franchise! Lionhead Studios have released this announcement trailer for the next installment of the Fable franchise, beautifully narrated by Michael Gambon, at Gamescom 2013. This game is set 400 years before the events of Fable and has a completely re-imagined the play style. The 4 heroes shown in the trailer are all playable characters, which can be played in 4 player coop or by the games AI, if you prefer to play solo.
However, this is not the biggest surprise of the new game! Along with the 4 playable heroes, there is an additional fifth playable character who is the villain! This villain character controls all the enemies and obstacles within the quests being played by the heroes, in a sort of dungeon master role from a top-down camera view! This potentially means that every quest will be completely unique, or if your dungeon master can't be bothered to place every enemy within the level there is a list of pre-built load-outs available.
Fable Legends is a quest based game rather than an open world game with a central hub city known as Brightlodge. In Brightlodge you can amuse yourself with all the trademark Fable activities such as smithing and seducing townsfolk. Finally, The game will rely strongly on a good matchmaking system that will utilize the Xbox One's cloud capabilities and so will be an online only game.
So it's not Fable 4 but it looks very interesting! Let us know what you think in the comments!
